Iconic Calgary banh mi spot has relocated again and here's what we know

Little over a year after relocation, a popular spot for banh mi and Vietnamese street food has closed.
Since 2004, Thai Tai has been a Calgary institution, located on 17th Ave SW for two decades. Last year, the eatery relocated to 1436 8th St. SW, but it now appears to have moved again.
While the 8th Street location is now listed as “temporarily closed” on Google, Thai Tai’s Instagram account and food delivery platforms, including DoorDash and Uber Eats, now list its address as 3515 32nd St. NE.

Thai Tai serves up a variety of Vietnamese street food options, but its subs are the star of the show, with over 15 fillings on the menu. Flavour-packed varieties include the Tiger Prawn sub, the Sate Beef sub, and more.
It also offers wonton and noodle soups, spring rolls, and Vietnamese pork chops.
While Thai Tai’s apparent move is sad news for those in the Beltline, at least it appears to have not left the city altogether.
As for the 8th Street space, signage for a new restaurant named Chez Nguyen has appeared. Also specializing in Vietnamese fare, the spot is currently in its soft opening stage.

Chez Nguyen also offers its own range of Vietnamese subs, as well as pho, vermicelli, and a range of other dishes.
