Much-loved Calgary Thai restaurant to open a new location this summer
One of Calgary’s most popular Thai restaurants is taking an exciting step this year with the opening of a new location.
Since opening its first brick-and-mortar location in 2022, Thai Siam has remained consistently popular with Calgarians. Having outgrown its original space, the restaurant began working with Starr Distilling in 2023. What was initially a 10-day pop-up has now blossomed into a three-year partnership.
Even with the additional space, Thai Siam shared that it was regularly having to decline reservation requests and turn away walk-in diners on weekends due to enormous demand from Calgarians.
While Tiago Sousa, co-owner of Thai Siam, told Dished last year that the hunt for a second location was underway, we now have details on where it’ll be.
Thai Siam’s highly anticipated second outpost is slated to open this summer, in a location just across from the CF Chinook Centre, so it’s great news for those further south.

“Our hope is that this second location will not only allow us to welcome more guests, but also help lighten the load on our first home so that more of you can get in, sit down, and enjoy the Thai food you love, without the stress of missing out,” the Thai Siam team said.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring everything we’ve learned, refined, perfected into this second location and to create another space where you can gather, eat, celebrate, and feel at home.”
It’s an exciting step for the restaurant, and we’ll be not-so-patiently waiting for the newest outpost to open. Until then, Calgarians are able to visit Thai Siam at Starr Distilling, located at 4127 6th St. NE, but don’t forget to make a reso.
