One of Calgary's most popular Japanese restaurants is opening a new location
One of Calgary’s most popular spots for Japanese dining is opening a brand-new location soon, and it’s great news for those living downtown.
Ryuko Japanese Kitchen + Bar has grown quite the following since opening its first location in 2022. Now, the spot will be opening its third YYC outpost in the Beltline.
The newest location will be opening at 1004 14th St. SW, where it will be serving up its menu of modern Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, katsu, udon, and more.

The menu is packed with plenty of favourites, each beautifully presented using quality ingredients such as locally sourced vegetables, premium wagyu, and fish from trusted suppliers around the world.
Beef tartare lovers will want to try out the gya-tako tartare with Asian pear and house-made taro chips. Another must-try is the ishiyaki wagyu with Alberta wagyu served on a hot grilling stone with house-made ponzu.
Ryuko Beltline is hosting a pre-opening celebration until July 17, with the official opening date to be revealed soon, so watch this space.
Until then, diners can visit Ryuko’s locations in Christie Park and Macleod Trail.
