Popular restaurant known for its Korean pizza and katsu to open second Calgary location
A well-known restaurant offering Korean pizza and Katsu dishes is gearing up to open its second Calgary location.
The dual concept spot, Pizza Maru and Katsuya, is set to open its second Calgary location in West Springs, bringing its unique pizzas and katsu dishes to the west side.
First opening in the northwest back in 2023, Pizza Maru offers a completely different pizza experience in Calgary. The pizzas are made with a dough with green tea chlorella, oats, rye, flax, and black rice, which gives the dough a slight green hue but also makes it super light.

Popular pies include the Holy Honey Sweet Potato, with sweet potato mousse, corn, and diced sweet potato, the Korean Bulgogi and the Signature Shrimbul, which features sweet ranch sauce, potato, and some pretty large shrimp.
Meanwhile, as hinted in the name, Katsuya offers several spins on the famous Japanese dish, including Brick Cheese Katsu, Carbonara Katsu, Garlic Chili Katsu, and so much more.
An official opening date for West Springs has yet to be announced, so stay tuned.
