World-famous sandwich chain to open in Calgary this fall
Calgary has seen a huge influx of international restaurant chains making their way to the city over the last few years, with everything from Shake Shack to Krispy Kreme setting up shop.
The latest spot that’s YYC-bound is sandwich chain Jimmy John’s, which is slated to open its first location in the city this fall.
The spot is widely known for sandwiches, served on freshly baked bread with hand-sliced meats and vegetables and its signature Jimmy Chips.
“University District is a natural fit for Jimmy John’s, bringing together a growing residential community, a vibrant Retail Main Street and thousands of students, professionals and visitors from nearby institutions,” said Angelo Ragas, brand leader at Foodtastic for Jimmy John’s.
“This highly connected and walkable neighbourhood is well suited to people looking for a range of choices, and a fresh meal that complements how they live, work and spend time in the area.”
Opening its first Canadian outpost in 2024 in partnership with Foodtastic, Jimmy John’s has expanded across the country, with 16 locations. Signage for another Calgary location on Macleod Trail has also been spotted, so stay tuned.
