A brand-new McDonald’s is set to open in Calgary this winter, and it’s good news for one of the city’s most beloved neighbourhoods.

The golden arches will soon be opening a new outpost in the heart of Kensington, located at 273 10th St. NW. The spot was previously home to the now-shuttered Seoul Cafe.

While there aren’t too many details just yet, Marco Crimi, the local franchisee behind the new location, told Dished that the location could open as early as the end of the year.

“This new location is expected to create approximately 50 jobs, providing opportunities for local people to build skills, gain work experience, and grow their careers,” he said.

“My family and I are proud to be part of this community, and we look forward to welcoming guests, supporting local causes and becoming an active part of the area for years to come.”

So Kensington residents won’t have too long to wait before they have a shiny new McDonald’s location on their doorstep.
