A new Costco is in the works near Calgary and it's 170,000 square feet

It seems as though plans for a new Costco just outside Calgary have reached an exciting new milestone.
The prospect of a new Costco outpost at Bingham Crossing, a new multi-phase development project located between the western edge of Calgary and the community of Harmony, has been in the works for some time.
However, the anticipated time period for its opening moved from 2025 to Fall 2026.
In its latest update, Bingham Crossing shared that Costco had been confirmed as the anchor business for the development.

“We closed on the sale of 18 acres of land where the international wholesaler will start to build their warehouse,” it said.
While Costco will mark the first phase of development on the site, future phases will see additional retail, dining, and even aĀ 190-unit seniors housing complex and municipal green spaces. Leasing of the surrounding buildings is also underway.
“A Transportation Accommodation Plan has been prepared and will be shared with the community in advance of upcoming work along Range Road 33 and Highway 1. Construction has already begun in the northeast and southeast quadrants and will continue with work on the east side of Range Road 33 and the south side of Township Road 250,” Bingham Crossing added.
Construction on the Bingham Crossing site has begun, with the 170,000 square foot warehouse expected to be completed in 2026, according to the Alberta Major Projects website.
