After being put on pause in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Calgary Stampede made a comeback this year.

Leading up to the 10-day event, there was much speculation about what a COVID-era Stampede would look like. While some details were released prior to the kickoff on July 9, no one knew for sure what this year’s edition would bring.

Changes such as more space on the midway, digital queueing and proof of vaccine or a negative COVID-19 rapid test at Nashville North, a virtual parade, and hand sanitizing stations throughout the Park are a few of the obvious differences, along with tons of work behind the scenes to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone.

Wednesday marked the halfway point of the 2021 Stampede and, with four days left, it’s safe to say that attendees of the event now know what to expect when heading down to the grounds.

Here’s what this year’s Calgary Stampede has looked like so far.
