
The chilly temperatures that are hugging Calgary will be over soon, and the warmup forecast for the city will likely melt a significant amount of snow.
A snowstorm that rolled through our city yesterday brought with it nine centimetres of snow to the Calgary International Airport, while snowfall reports from volunteer and third-party sources came in at the 10 to 18 centimetre mark, according to a weather summary from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
We may be saying goodbye to much of the snow soon, with the ECCC forecast for Calgary hinting at a hefty temperature swing, going from an overnight low of -15°C on Friday to a daytime high of 5°C on Sunday and Monday.
When you do the math between the overnight low on Friday and the daytime high on Sunday, that’s a difference of 20 degrees over just a couple of days.

According to ECCC, the normal temperatures for Calgary at this time of year are a high of zero and a low of -11ºC.
