
Calgary neighbourhoods are getting into the holiday spirit this year and bringing tons of events right to the city. Whether you want to see some lights, sip on some hot chocolate, or take in some festive fun, there are plenty of neighbourhood activities to check out.
From annual tree lightings to parades of lights and local markets, here are five Calgary neighbourhoods with holiday events you have to check out.
Jinglewood

What: Every December, Inglewood transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland. The historic streets are filled with festive fun and holiday cheer for everyone to enjoy. You can find small shops and restaurants decorated for the season and holiday activities everywhere. You can find events like workshops, markets, shows, and much more. Â

Mahogany Parade of Lights and Tree of Hope
What: Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are making their way over to Mahogany this December to celebrate the annual Mahogany Parade of Lights! Homes and businesses will be decorated along the route, along with tons of dazzling floats. After the parade, everyone is invited to the Mahogany Beach Club for the annual lighting of the Tree of Hope.
When: Saturday, Dec. 6; Parade from 5 to 6 p.m., Tree of Hope lighting from 6 to 7 p.m.

Light Up the Square

East Village Calgary/Facebook
What: East Village is celebrating its 11th annual community tree lighting on Dec. 6, 2025. Head on down to the 5th Street square and enjoy hot cider and beer gardens, A Santa letter writing station, holiday crafts, hot chocolate, food trucks, carolers, Santa visits, and of course, the tree lighting at 5:15 p.m!
When: Saturday, Dec. 6; 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: 5th Street Square — 5th Street and 7th Avenue SE
Auburn Bay Parade of Lights
What: For its 10th year, the Auburn Bay Parade of Lights is lighting up the streets once again. The parade will leave Auburn House at 5 p.m. and travel West on Auburn Bay Boulevard, and runs for about 90 minutes. Tons of floats register every year, so it should be a fantastic night of community and lights.
When: Saturday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Alpine Park Christmas Market and Festival

What: Alpine Park is hosting a Christmas market and festival this year. You can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, hot chocolate, Santa visits, market vendors, and photos with ice sculptures.
