Calgary Flames hosting rookie game vs. Edmonton Oilers and tickets are ridiculously cheap

Calgary Flames hockey is set to return to the Saddledome this coming weekend.

The Flames will host the Edmonton Oilers in the Next Gen Showcase Game on Sunday, Sept. 14. The two sides will also meet two nights prior in an outing that will be played at Rogers Place.

Sunday’s game is set for 4 p.m. MDT, while doors to the Saddledome will open at 3 p.m.

Both games will feature plenty of top Flames prospects, including Zayne Parekh, Hunter Brzustewicz, Matvei Gridin, and Sam Honzek. And, even better, the tickets are extremely affordable.

All tickets for Sunday’s game at the Saddledome are going for just $10, with all proceeds going to the Calgary Flames Foundation, which is half the price of what they will cost for the game in Edmonton two nights prior.

This also allows fans to see the Flames in action for a much cheaper price than they will be able to find during the regular season. All regular-season tickets for the Flames recently went on sale to the general public, and the cheapest seats for the vast majority of the games are going for upwards of $70.

Prior to and during game play, several Flames alumni will be in attendance to meet fans and sign autographs. There will also be plenty of interactive games throughout the concourse, and Harvey the Hound will be in attendance for all to meet. Fans are also encouraged to bring any new or used sporting goods, all of which will be donated to the Calgary Flames Sports Bank.

Meanwhile, any fans who purchase season tickets during the event will have the opportunity to meet the Flames prospects postgame and join them for a picture at centre ice.

The Flames will have a number of preseason games in late September and early October, four of which will be played at the Saddledome. They’ll then begin the regular season on the road in games versus the Oilers and Vancouver Canucks, before returning to Calgary for their home opener on Saturday, Oct. 11, against the St. Louis Blues.
