Christmas is exactly one week away, so if you haven’t yet gotten into the spirit of the season, now is a perfect time!

There are plenty of festive events to check out around the city today, so get out there and make the most of it.

Find Christmas Downtown 2018

What: The third-annual Find Christmas Downtown at the CORE Shopping Centre decorates and provides Christmas trees to local families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford it. Corporations, non-profit organizations, and media partners will come together to decorate 150 trees throughout the space, and the trees will remain at the mall for the holiday season until December 19. After that, they will be delivered to local families in need across the city. The CORE is also hosting a free Santa photo session from now until Christmas. Monetary donations, toys, and gifts are appreciated and will go towards The Magic of Christmas charity.

Queerly Festive Dinner & Show

What: Local non-profit and charitable organizations have come together to curate a holiday dinner and show hosted by the Palomino Smokehouse, which is by donation. Connect with friends, meet new ones and celebrate diversity. All ages.

The Willows & George Koller – Wintery Dreams

What: Decidedly Jazz Danceworks presents The Willows, with award winning bassist, George Koller in an evening of original tunes and holiday classics from their albums “Tea for Three” and “This is Christmas.” This is their second annual Food Bank Fundraiser.

December Cats & Yoga

What: Laugh, play, and stretch with Regal Cat Cafe’s yoga instructors and their fuzzy assistants. Take great photos posing with the kitties as you test your concentration skills, or just relax and giggle at all the fun these kitties have trying to distract the instructor. Includes a yoga with the kitties, and a complimentary small loose-leaf tea or brewed coffee. All skill levels welcome. Guests must be 18+.
