A long-awaited dumpling spot has just opened a new Calgary location

The wait is finally over! Months after signage appeared for a new dumpling shop on Calgary’s 17th Avenue, the location has finally opened its doors.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, the chain of “automat” dumpling shops, opened its first Calgary outpost in Inglewood last year. While 17th Avenue was initially slated to open in early 2024, the spot has now officially opened to the public.
The concept, which was founded by NYC restaurateur Stratis Morfogen, offers dozens of unique dumpling flavours from mac and cheese, Reuben and lamb gyro, and even dessert dumplings.
However, if you’re more of a dumpling traditionalist, the spot also has pork and kimchi and wagyu beef.
Unlike other dumpling spots, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is zero-contact. All you need to do is place your order online or at an in-store kiosk, scan your barcode and grab your order from an automat in-store.
The 17th Avenue location is open from 11 am to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and until 2 am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for those looking for a late-night snack.
