A Calgary restaurant is offering free dumplings this week — here's when and where
Months after signage appeared, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop finally opened its 17th Avenue outpost in February. Now, the popular spot is hosting a huge grand opening celebration, complete with freebies for some lucky Calgarians.
For one day only on Saturday, April 12, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop’s 17th Avenue location will be giving out a free taster pack of its best-selling dumplings to the first 100 guests.
Even if you miss out on the free dumplings, guests who visit during the grand opening will receive 50% off, which can be redeemed on their next visit.
The grand opening kicks off at 11:30 a.m., so get down early if you’re looking to secure the freebies.

The concept, which was founded by NYC restaurateur Stratis Morfogen, offers dozens of unique dumpling flavours, including Korean BBQ, mac and cheese, Reuben and lamb gyro, and even dessert dumplings.
However, if you’re more of a dumpling traditionalist, the spot also serves pork and kimchi and Wagyu beef. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop also offers bowls, chicken sandwiches, and so much more.
Unlike other dumpling spots, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is zero-contact. All you need to do is place your order online or at an in-store kiosk, scan your barcode and grab your order from an automat in-store.
