A first look at Calgary's newest restaurant with a stunning rooftop patio and river views
Nothing screams summer quite like hanging out on a patio, cocktail in hand, and we’re pleased to report that Calgary’s latest rooftop hotspot has finally opened.
Bow & Bend, a new bar and lounge located on the 12th floor of the new Element hotel, has opened its doors to the public, offering scenic views at every turn, cocktails and bites.
The spot, which was previously an office building, has been completely transformed to include a spacious indoor dining room with large windows that make the most of the natural light, cozy booths, and plenty of seating.
However, one of the most exciting features is its large west-facing rooftop patio, offering unobstructed views of the Bow River and the sprawl of the city. For chillier evenings, there are also firepits, adding to the atmosphere.

Its menu offers a wide selection of hand-crafted cocktails, using spirits from local spots such as Eau Claire Distillery and Bridgeland Distillery. Meanwhile, for food, Bow & Bend offers everything from shareables and salads to housemade burgers and pastas.
“Our team has worked hard to curate a menu that is locally sourced and expertly crafted, one that reflects the vibrant, diverse local cuisines of Calgary,” said Ashutosh Salunke, head chef at Bow & Bend.
“We have developed dishes that pair perfectly with your favourite wine, cocktail or mocktail, using fresh, local ingredients to create flavours that truly stand out.”
Later this summer, the spot will also launch its weekend brunch menu from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., so stay tuned.
Bow & Bend is open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to midnight.
