Long-standing Vancouver coffee chain is actually lowering prices

Whether it’s your morning latte or your grocery bill, prices for everything seem to be going up. But that’s not the case with Waves Coffee Shop, as the brand has just shared that it is actually lowering select menu prices, as well as offering more “value options.”
“We understand that consumers are feeling stretched,” said Kayvan Rahmati, president of
Waves Coffee House. “Everything from groceries to rent to eating out has become more
expensive, and we hear that feedback. Our goal is to continue operating sustainably while also making sure Waves remains a neighbourhood coffee house where people can visit often, feel welcome, and still find value.”
So what savings can you anticipate? Well, there will be several changes customers can expect. For starters, drip coffee will be priced under $3, and prices will be reduced on select real chocolate-based beverages.
Waves is also removing additional charges for things like butter and whipped cream, and is looking at removing oat and almond milk charges by the end of the year.
Additionally, it is looking to add a selection of new handheld food items, including samosas and calzones, priced under $5, and a price adjustment on select breakfast and snack items like English muffins, egg bites, and more.

Waves shared that it was able to do this after renegotiating agreements with several key suppliers, including contracts related to coffee, chocolate, and distribution.
“These improvements have created an opportunity for the company to pass
savings back to guests in certain areas,” added the coffee brand.
“We are not immune to rising costs, but we also do not want to simply pass every increase on to the guest,” Rahmati added. “When we are able to find savings in our supply chain, we believe it is important to share that value with our customers. It is about creating a win-win situation where our cafés remain viable, our franchise partners can operate responsibly, and our guests continue to see Waves as their place to connect.”
Founded in Vancouver back in 2005, Waves has grown to operate 27 locations across B.C. and Alberta.
