In The Shadow of the Pavilions: Expo 86 and Contemporary Art

What: The exhibition revisits the cultural legacy of Expo ’86, the landmark World’s Fair that transformed Vancouver’s urban and economic identity and introduced tens of millions of people to visions of technological progress and international exchange.
It explores Expo ’86 through the work of contemporary artists using photography, video, installation, and archival materials.

What: Dance your way into that summer feeling with Public Disco. The free all-ages dance party features live music, DJs, and dance performances on Granville Island. There will also be a food market and kids’ activities at the Block Party.

Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival
What: The White Rock Night Market returns for another year with an incredible lineup of food tents, local artisans, live entertainment, lawn games, face painting, and the best sunset views in town.

Car Free Day Surrey
What: The fifth-annual Car Free Day Surrey, hosted by the Newton Business Improvement Association, is happening on Saturday, June 6, along 137th Street. The day-long event will feature live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food vendors, and more.
Music lovers will find lots to enjoy during the free street party, including live dance, concert performances, and DJs.

Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet
What: The Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet is the largest meet of its kind in Western Canada and began in 1963 as a way to bring elite swimming talent to Vancouver to race local athletes. Cheers on current swim icons and see future stars race at the UBC Aquatic Centre.

Suntail Drink Co. one-year anniversary party
What: Suntail Drink Co. is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a party at The Parlour in Yaletown, complete with giveaways, drink specials, and an exclusive sneak peek at a new flavour. Best of all, you’re invited!
On Sunday, June 7, swing by The Parlour between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to celebrate with Suntail at the very place it launched just one year earlier.
This free event is first-come, first-served, and will feature giveaways, drink specials, and the launch of the newest flavour, Soleada – a tropical mango margarita that’s equal parts fresh and delicious.

Canyon Kick-Off at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

Capilano Suspension Bridge
What: Excitement for the FIFA World Cup continues to build throughout Metro Vancouver, and you can take your fandom to great heights at a new celebration hosted by Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Canyon Kick-Off will transform the park into a football paradise from June 6 to July 19, and soccer fans of all ages are welcome.
The immersive, soccer-themed experience will showcase the scenic views for which Capilano Suspension Bridge is renowned, as well as feature plenty of activities to get you hyped for one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

DD Mau Feast and Friends Vol. 5
What: Feast and Friends is returning for its fifth volume. This time, chef Tyler Hoang of DD Mau will be joined by chef Takeshi Hasegawa of OKU Izakaya and bartender Satoshi Yonemori of Shuhari Cocktail and June. During the event, you’ll enjoy a multi-course menu that fuses the culinary traditions of Vietnam and Japan. Think fresh Vietnamese herbs meet fresh Japanese seafood, Azuki bean meets pandan, and more.

Hats Off Day
What: The long-running free festival, which is called Hats Off Day because it’s a day for local businesses to “take their hats off” to their community, features live performances, kid-friendly activities, a show and shine, and, of course, plenty of delicious food.
Organized by the Burnaby Heights Merchants Association, as well as the Hats Off committee and the Burnaby Heights community, the 12-block event is expected to draw up to 50,000 visitors to the area.

Art Party: Ancient Futures
What: The Vancouver Art Gallery is transforming for Art Party, an immersive late-night celebration with drinks and performances, on Saturday, June 6.
Take your time in the thought-provoking exhibitions on at the Vancouver Art Gallery, including That Green Ideal: Emily Carr and the Idea of Nature, Future Geographies: Art in the Century of Climate Change, and Highlights from the Collection.
There are also several vibrant performances and interactive activities that you won’t want to miss at the late-night Art Party. And yes, drinks will be available to enjoy while you get your art on.

Doors Open Richmond 2026

Doors Open Richmond
What: If frequenting more museums or discovering a new exhibit has been on your radar for a while, Doors Open Richmond is the perfect opportunity to explore vibrant local art and history scenes.
Now in its 19th year, the event makes dozens of partner sites completely free to visit for one weekend only.
This year, over 40 cultural organizations, public facilities, and historical landmarks will open their doors, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace.

Canada House by Coca-Cola
What: Canada House by Coca-Cola at the Shark Club is your place for World Cup 2026 action.
Every match will be shown wall-to-wall on big screens with sound, creating a stadium-like viewing experience where fans can gather, celebrate, and support Canada and all countries during the competition, with prizes and giveaways available throughout the entire tournament.

Eastside Atelier – Escape Into Art

Soccer in the Square 2026 Watch Party at Wesbrook Village, UBC

Live at UBC
What: UBC Properties Trust brings the excitement of the global soccer stage to Wesbrook Village with Soccer in the Square, a free, all-ages outdoor viewing experience.
From June 11 to July 19, catch live matches on the big screen at Norman MacKenzie Square, where fans can gather under a shaded tent with picnic seating to cheer on their favourite teams.
Expect a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with picnic tables, leashed pups welcome, and easy access to takeout from nearby eateries. With space for up to 150 guests, plus movies, music, and entertainment between matches, it’s a festive community hangout all tournament long.
