Vancouver Water Fight

What: If you see someone in a business suit getting blasted with a Super Soaker at Stanley Park, don’t be alarmed. It’s all part of Vancouver’s largest water fight.
The 15th annual Vancouver Water Fight is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, kicking off at 1 p.m. near Lumberman’s Arch.
Hundreds of people are expected to gather for one of the city’s quirkiest and most joyful summer traditions.

Gastown Sunday Set
What: Water Street is turning into a stage, gallery, café patio, dance floor, and open-air playground every Sunday until Sept. 6.
Each week features a fresh setlist of DJs, art drops, interactive installations, markets, games, and curated surprises. It’s street-level culture, served up weekly in the heart of Vancouver’s most iconic neighbourhood.
The series also features several rotating events, with programming including Streetside Sessions – Coffee Party. Gastown in Bloom – Flower Market, Open Air Atelier – Live Art Battles.

Pleasant Day Festival
Mount Pleasant BIA
What: Pleasant Day Festival is taking over a huge stretch of Main Street for a jam-packed community celebration on Saturday, Aug. 8.
The family-friendly event is presented by the Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area (MPBIA) and will feature interactive activities, chill zones, and four stages of great live music.

Kiki Yeung at Yuk Yuks Surrey
What: Comedian Kiki Yeung is an acclaimed comedian with credits ranging from Netflix Is A Joke Fest, New York Comedy Festival, ABC, and Crazy Woke Asians.
The highly anticipated show at Yuk Yuks Surrey will also feature Seattle comic Ellen Acuario, who has appeared at the Women in Comedy Festival, Crazy Woke Asians, RISK Podcast live tour, and more.

Light Up Chinatown!
What: Light Up Chinatown! is returning for its sixth year, taking over the Vancouver neighbourhood with plenty of exclusive food collaborations, live performances, local vendors, and community programs.
The festival, which started as a way to support local businesses in the area, has been known to draw over 20,000 visitors during its two-day run.

Richmond Sunflower Festival
Richmond Country Farm
What: The Richmond Country Farms Sunflower Festival is now open, and you can find over 90 flower varieties of sunflowers, dahlias, gladiolas, and seasonal blooms this year.
You have access to 20 acres of blooms in 2026, which is double the size of previous events. The farm also has walking paths that are suitable for strollers throughout the fields, with a number of good spots to take photos, like flower wagons, rustic props, and other Instagram-worthy areas.
Visitors can also enjoy tractor-pulled wagon rides, farm animals, rotating food trucks, and the CP Huntington Train.

Cost: On weekends, it is $12 for children and seniors and $14 for general admission (13+). On weekends and holidays, it is $15 for children and seniors and $17 for general admission (13+). Free for children two and under.
South Granville Summer – Silent Book Club
What: Settle in for a dedicated hour of silent reading with optional socializing afterward. The event runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m., with doors opening right at 2 p.m. and wrapping up at 4:30 p.m. Admission is completely free, and no advanced ticketing or website links are required to attend this community gathering.

Candlelight Open Air: Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons at Grouse Mountain
What: An outdoor candlelight concert is coming to Grouse Mountain.
The highly anticipated show will be put on by Fever, with the live, multi-sensory musical experience featuring hits from both Coldplay and Imagine Dragons. Get ready to hear timeless songs like “Clocks” and “Thunder” performed by a string quartet.
Tickets include the gondola trip and mountain admission anytime after 4 p.m. Additional add-ons are also available.

What: Celebrate inclusivity, belonging, and community spirit! And maybe enjoy a few rainbows and sparkles along the way. Canada’s professional women’s soccer league is back at Swangard Stadium.
On the pitch, Vancouver Rise FC will be looking for another big victory. Off the pitch, the club is celebrating Pride, featuring a festive atmosphere that includes Venus, winner of season 4 of Canada’s Drag Race.

Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival
What: One of Metro Vancouver’s most popular outdoor music festivals will be returning this month, and it’s giving fans a huge reason to cheer.
Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival, happening at the Festival Lawn at Deer Lake Park on Saturday, Aug. 8, is once again offering free admission in 2026. Fans will also be treated to a stellar lineup of performers, including headliner Talk and Canadian icon Jully Black.

What: The City of Vancouver has opened a temporary 18-hole mini golf experience in Stanley Park. The new attraction is expected to last until the fall.
Go on a golf adventure through a whimsical mini-golf wonderland created with an artful take on geometric patterns. All ages are welcome to come take a swing.
