Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival
What: The 2025 Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival is happening at Garry Point Park on Sunday, April 6. Visitors will help celebrate the arrival of spring and the blooming of cherry blossoms, as well as enjoy a day full of free activities, live entertainment, and food trucks.
Check out the Sakura Tent for main-stage performances and demos, including taiko drumming, folk singing, dancers, and ikebana demonstrations. Children of all ages can also stop by the Chibi-Chan Tent to learn how to fold origami creatures with special Japanese papers and techniques.
Attendees will also want to visit the Hanami Tent between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for displays and demos from local artisans, including bonsai, calligraphy, and origami. You’ll also have the chance to take in a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony.

Anand: A Soul’s Journey Home
What: SHMBC hosts an evening of art, storytelling and performances that highlight the soul’s journey through life as well as its return to the light. Get ready to enjoy a lineup of local artists, including spoken word, sarangis, tables, dhaadi, and more.

Ins Choi: Son of a Preacherman
What: Kim’s Convenience creator Ins Choi returns to Pacific Theatre with his new work, Son of a Preacherman. Choi will share his creative process, riff on Bible stories, and share what it was like to grow up in a Korean church “as the only begotten son of the head pastor.”

Tightrope Theatre presents The Workplace

Food Truck Festival at UBC

Cambodian Rock Band
What: The Arts Club presents Cambodian Rock Band, a dark-humour, genre-defying play about a Khmer Rouge survivor returning to Cambodia decades later just as his daughter is about to prosecute one of the country’s worst war criminals.
A live band will bring classic Cambodian songs and contemporary Dengue Fever hits to the stage as the play travels back and forth in time and showcases the enduring power of the human spirit and music.

Ari Shaffir

Bear Creek Park Easter Train

What: Bear Creek Park Train presents its annual Easter Train in Surrey throughout the month of April. Put on your bunny ears and hop aboard Eddy The Engine for a magical ride at one of the city’s most popular parks.
After your Easter Train ride, children of all ages can enjoy arts and crafts, go on a decorated forest tour, and take part in an egg hunt.
There will also be games, animals onsite every weekend, and a chance for a meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny.

Queen of the Ring
