A FREE outdoor dance party is coming to Vancouver for Cherry Blossom Fest
The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) is just around the corner, and we’ve got the details on a massive event you need to add to your calendar.
Public Disco and VCBF are teaming up to host the Blossom Block Party on Saturday, April 5, in Downtown Vancouver.
The free, all-ages party will take place at Dunsmuir Patio at Bentall Centre, with all-vinyl DJ sets, family-friendly activities and interactive art in celebration of the city’s beautiful blossoms.

“The Blossom Block Party is all about embracing the season together and bringing music, movement, and community into public space in a way that feels joyful and welcoming,” said Nickolas Collinet, executive director of Public Disco Society, in a release.
“We’re excited to transform the Dunsmuir Patio into an intimate outdoor dancefloor where people can gather, connect, and celebrate the energy of spring.”
Public Disco is a registered non-profit organization and held its first event in 2017 in Vancouver’s colourful Alley Oop. Since then, the group has hosted events around the city, including during the Pride Festival and Vancouver Mural Festival.

The open-air dance party will take place from 2 to 9 p.m. at 1055 Dunsmuir St., with DJs including Dairy Free, curator of Chinatown’s Bleach Listening Room; Esette, co-founder of the Alberta Electronic Music Conference; Abasi, co-founder of Intimate Productions & Bass Coast Alumni; and Souldoze, the founder of DOZE HIFI.
Blossom Block Party will also feature pop-up bars with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, live painting by mural artist Ciele Beau, a colouring station for children, and food and drinks from Funk Coffee Bar and Lee’s Donuts.

VCBF is blooming with a huge lineup of events to discover from March 26 to April 28.
Other highlights include Blossoms After Dark takeover of David Lam Park from March 28 to 30, The Big Picnic at David Lam on March 29, and Sakura Days Japan Fair on April 12 and 13 at Vancouver’s VanDusen Botanical Garden.
