Another Vancouver Sport Chek store is closing its doors
Another Vancouver Sport Chek location is closing down.
The franchise’s store on Southwest Marine Drive, at 8125 Ontario St., has bright yellow “store closing” signs posted on the windows, advertising an “inventory liquidation sale,” with most items posted at 30 per cent off.
It is open daily between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., according to its website.
Sport Chek told Daily Hive Urbanized that it will be closed by January of next year, saying that it was “a business decision.”

Daily Hive Urbanized also reached out to Canadian Tire, which owns Sport Chek, to ask why this location was closing, and whether there were other locations with impending closures. We will update the story once we receive a response.
A number of Metro Vancouver Sport Chek stores have closed in recent months, including its West Broadway and Lougheed Mall locations.
After the Marine Drive location shuts down, the nearest locations will be the Robson Street flagship store in Downtown Vancouver, Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver, and Metropolis at Metrotown Mall in Burnaby.
