Remember January 2020?
We know, it’s hard to believe there was anything before March of last year, but long before we were all locked down in our homes amid a global pandemic, Vancouver was dealing with an issue of its own one year ago today: The fallout from a massive snowstorm.
And while there’s no snow to be seen this year, (save for on the local mountains), the scene was drastically different this time last year, when schools were closed, transit was a mess, and the city pretty much shut down.
So with everything happening in the world today, now seems a good a time as any to look back at the time Old Man Winter showed up with a vengeance in Vancouver.
Ahhh, memories.
Sent from my buddy out there, Vancouver is always ready for the rain but the white stuff is a whole different story. #vancouversnowstorm2020 #VancouverSnow #Vancouver pic.twitter.com/j9GCTx4oC4

View from my patio on Westwood Plateau Coquitlam (Vancouver).
Heavy snow last night.
Be careful if you have to drive anywhere today.

Give downtown Vancouver 15cm of snow over night and it turns into a ghost town pic.twitter.com/pJ4LyK6hg0

If you don’t have proper tires, do not attempt to get on the #Vancouver roads today. You will end up blocking streets & traffic. This is what residential st looks like. And forget about trying to leave your back alley. #BCStorm #VancouverSnow #VancouverSnowstorm2020 pic.twitter.com/KjiEk9dzYQ
