Vancouver Coastal Health added five schools in Vancouver and Richmond to its list of ones with coronavirus exposure Friday.

The newly added schools are both elementary and high school, and contact tracers will directly phone close contacts of the infected individuals.

In Vancouver, Point Grey Secondary, Ideal Mini School, and Sir James Douglas Elementary are reporting new exposures. Point Grey and Ideal Mini School had someone show up while contagious on October 16. Sir James Douglas’ exposure alert is for October 20.

In Richmond, HJ Cambie Secondary and Pythagoras Academy have had someone from the school test positive for coronavirus. Cambie’s exposure dates are October 13 to 16 and October 19. At Pythagoras, the infected person was there on October 13 and 14.

Vancouver Coastal Health reminds families that anyone who hasn’t received a call from contact tracers instructing them to self-isolate can continue attending school as normal.
