Despite some price drops, the Vancouver home belonging to Canucks legend Alexander Edler, is still for sale.

Daily Hive learned that Edler’s home was for sale last fall and that it had initially been listed on July 23, 2024, for $8,490,000.

That listing was terminated in January 2025 after a price drop, bringing the asking price down to $7,998,000. It was re-listed later that month for $7,750,000, but in April, the price was brought down even further, and it is now listed for $7,199,000 — nearly a $1.3 million drop from the initial listing.

Located on McNicoll Avenue, the Kitsilano property boasts 3,791 sq ft of space, with the interior designed by Hodgson Design. We verified Edler’s ownership through a land title search, and Oakwyn Realty’s Matt Pozer told Daily Hive Edler no longer lives in the home.

In 2024, the home was assessed at $4,432,000, $2.7 million below the asking price.

While it might not look like it, the home, built in 1912, is 113 years old. The listing describes the house as “Scandinavian minimalism meets heritage charm.” It features five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Pictures highlight that minimalism.

It also suggests the home features a “timeless design and modern living in mind.”

The home also features a cozy outdoor seating area with a fire pit.

The house has three levels with a deck on the roof and has undergone a “top-to-bottom renovation” with “no expense spared.”

Edler had signed a new six-year contract in January 2013, and before this listing, the home was last sold in March 2014 for $3,490,000 — $10,000 under the listed price of $3,500,000. Edler’s home isn’t the only former defenceman who had a home for sale.

Edler retired as a Canuck in 2024.

In 2023, we told you about Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s home, which was up for sale. It happened to be located just a few blocks away from Edler’s house.

We also previously reported on another former Vancouver Canucks player’s home, the former captain himself, Bo Horvat.

Horvat’s home was listed for $5,599,000 but sold for $5,210,000 in April 2023.
