Vancouver Hello Kitty Bruno Mars pop-up spawns huge lineup

Bruno Mars fever has seemingly hit Vancouver, and an epic collab between the pop star and another icon, Hello Kitty, has spawned huge results.

A pop-up on Granville Street opened up earlier this week, and the demand is very clearly quite huge.

On Oct. 14, Daily Hive was on the street and spotted a massive lineup sprawling all the way down Granville Street and around the block.

We first reported on the Romantic Tour collab back in August, and clearly Vancouverites had this week circled in their calendars.

The collab features special merchandise in time with a series of shows Mars is doing in Vancouver, including hats, shirts, keychains, and other gear. Mars actually broke records after adding a fifth show.

Along with the Hello Kitty pop-up, there’s other Mars “magic” happening in Vancouver.

If you’ve walked around the city, you’ve likely seen some signs inspired by Mars.

That’s not all.

Earlier today, Daily Hive Urbanized also reported that even TransLink has a collab taking place with Mars. Mars is now officially the first music artist to voice SkyTrain announcements.

Not to be outdone, Hello Kitty is also extending her reach beyond Mars.

Yesterday, Offside reported that Hello Kitty was teasing a collab with none other than the Vancouver Canucks.

All in all, it’s a great time to be both a fan of Hello Kitty and Mars in Vancouver.

Fans of Hello Kitty will want to keep their eyes on the pop-up later this week, as an official meet-and-greet with the icon herself will take place.

On both Oct. 16 and Oct. 17, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. at 820 Granville St., fans will have a chance to meet Hello Kitty.
