Vancouver forecast calls for periods of snow for remainder of week

As arctic airflow continues throughout British Columbia, Metro Vancouver’s forecast is now calling for snow and flurries over the remainder of the week.

Periods of snow and a high of 0°C are expected on Wednesday morning. Although Thursday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud during the day, flurries and a low of -5°C are expected overnight.

The flurries will continue throughout the day on Friday, and snowfall is expected throughout Friday night and all of Saturday.

Sunday and Monday’s forecast also includes a 60% chance of flurries or showers, although daytime temperatures are expected to be significantly higher, at 3°C and 5°C, respectively.

Coastal areas are still expected to see temperatures that are 5°C to 10°C below seasonal, making for “the coldest conditions seen this season.”

The weather agency says that the frigid conditions will continue throughout the rest of the week, adding that Arctic Outflow warnings are possible for the Fraser Valley and the Sea to Sky corridor starting Wednesday night.
