While he writes that it’s “just stuff,” Vancouver Fire Chief Darrell Reid is encouraging the public to keep an eye out for some stolen items after thieves broke into his work truck on Thursday.

On Twitter, Reid wrote that his dress uniforms and medals were among the items stolen.

“I’m not about medals – but one is special,” he writes. “My Grandma was with me when I got it.”

He then thanks Vancouver police for their “great work and support” and encourages people to look out for the items.

“In case you see them around-you never know.”
