12 Girls Band – Chinese New Year Celebration

  • What: The 12 Girls Band is an internationally-renowned phenomenon, having presented more than 2,600 performances around the world. Retaining the rich colour of Chinese music while working with various musical styles, the 12 Girls Band was the first Chinese music group to be nominated for a Grammy Award.

“A Ribbon Around a Bomb”: Frida Kahlo’s Universal Appeal

  • What: Frida Kahlo’s popularity continues to grow more than 60 years after her death. Why is there Frida-mania? How did a Mexican Communist woman artist become a symbol of transgression and courage for so many people in completely different socio-political circumstances? Who and what inspired her? Frida Kahlo’s work (and myth) will be examined along with many of her extraordinary paintings.

Bike Club Free Teen Drop-in
