If winter in Vancouver often leaves you singing the blues, why not liven things up a little bit this season with a free jazz concert series?
Presented by Coastal Jazz and entitled, Winter Jazz: A Cure for Seasonal Affective Disorder, the concert series takes place from February 23 to 25, at Performance Works on Granville Island.
The short but sweet series will feature a total of seven local and international groups, including Scandinavian jazz quintet Atomic, Juno-nominated bassist Jodi Proznick, singer/songwriter Marin Patenaude, roots rockers, The Sumner Brothers, vocalist Alicia Hansen, Thelonious Monk-inspired jazzers Monk’s Music, and indie fave Jasper Sloan Yip.
So if it’s time to sing a different tune this winter season, Granville Island might just be the place for you.
