What: One of the most popular summertime events in the city is back as free outdoor movies return to Stanley Park this summer. The Evo Summer Cinema Series this week features Beetlejuice on a four-story inflatable movie screen. Be there before dusk and take part in the many fun pre-show activities, including games, prizes, and giveaways, as well as the weekly offering of food truck fare and classic movie treats.
Please bring your own blankets and/or lawn chairs and, since it’s a family-friendly event, smoking or alcohol is not permitted. Moviegoers are encouraged to walk, take transit, or bike to Stanley Park for the shows – there will be a bike valet service offered on site each night too.

Where: Ceperley Meadows near Second Beach, Stanley Park
What: The New West Grand Prix is the latest addition to the BC Superweek race series. The criterium-style race features a mass start and a 935-metre circuit that cyclists navigate for an expected 45-55 laps. More than 200 men’s and women’s cyclists will pass by every minute, making the New West Grand Prix a thrilling spectator experience.

What: Come to Central City’s outdoor Plaza and enjoy free live lunchtime music. A wide array of musical offerings is showcased including rock, jazz, country, and more.
When: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from July 9 to August 29, 2019
Time: 11:45 am to 2 pm
Where: Central City – 10153 King George Boulevard
What: This summer concert series will take place against the Fraser River backdrop every Tuesday and Thursday nights in July. The Eats at the Pier concession stand will be serving drinks from New West’s own Steel and Oak Brewing Co. and Pacific Breeze winery. The entire park will be one massive site-licensed area between 5 to 9 pm, allowing you to take your drink anywhere within the park.
When: Every Tuesday and Thursday from July 9 to July 25, 2019
Time: 5 to 9 pm. Music from 6 to 8 pm
Where: Westminster Pier Park – 1 6th St, New Westminster
What: Come enjoy authentic Greek food and live a day the Greek way. Experience local music and dance groups on the outdoor stage while eating your favourite Greek dishes.

What: The Arts Club Theatre Company presents Matilda the Musical. Armed with an outsize wit and a vivid imagination, precocious Matilda takes a stand to change her destiny. Even cruel parents and a hardened headmistress can’t get in her way. From the wonderfully subversive imagination of Roald Dahl, this fun family musical will bring out the child in everyone. In partnership with Citadel Theatre and Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre

What: As part of the international Mad Pride movement, Gallery Gachet celebrates mental diversity and confronts stigma with the annual Mad Pride exhibition. This year’s Mad Pride theme is Mad Honey, with the exhibition featuring four artists: Jackie Dives, Edzy Edzed, Janice “Jujube” Jacinto, and Andrew Scott.
