  • What: The second annual festival will be taking over downtown Vancouver with concerts led by artists like British singer-songwriter, composer, and producer, Blood Orange, two-time Grammy-nominee Kali Uchis, critically-acclaimed pop star Kelela, and YouTube sensation Poppy.

Terry Fox Hometown Run

  • What: The Terry Fox Hometown Run is a non-competitive event where people get together as individuals, families, and groups to raise money for cancer research in Terry’s name. There are 3 km, 5 km, 7 km and 10 km distances.

Whistler Village Beer Festival 2018

  • What: From September 11 to 16, the Whistler Village Beer Festival will be taking place at select venues throughout Whistler for six full days of beer-loving fun. This year, you’ll have the chance to sample beers and ciders from 70 breweries with over 140 varieties. There’s something for every kind of brew lover at WVBF with events spanning from tastings to cask nights, food pairings, forged axe throwing, and beer yoga. Let’s not forget about the bar hopping events and after parties too.

2018 Annual Seymour Salmonid Society Hatchery Open House

  • What: Find out what’s been going on at the hatchery and learn more about the Seymour Salmonid Society. There will be an unveiling of the wall mural by Ron Den Daas, hatchery tours, games, giveaways, live band and food truck. Free shuttle bus transport starts at 9:30 am.

Leon Bridges

  • What: Grammy Award-nominated Leon Bridges will be performing at the PNE Amphitheatre as part of his 2018 headline, Good Thing Tour, ahead of the release of his sophomore album, Good Thing. Supporting artists include Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Khruangbin, and Masego.

  • What: The Canuck Place Adventure Race is the ultimate end-of-summer activity. Taking place at Jericho Beach East, the all-ages event offers a fun athletic challenge for all fitness levels in aid of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Join in on the fun and adventure by participating in a 15 km scenic trail bike, 6 km run, as well as an exciting obstacle course, all for a great cause. Kids can also enjoy their very own custom race featuring a 3 km bike ride, a 2 km run, and an obstacle course before reaching the finish line. The adaptive course is designed to be completed on foot or in a wheelchair.

Vancouver Fringe Festival 2018

  • What: Produced annually by the Vancouver Fringe Theatre Society, Vancouver Fringe features 99 shows and over 700 performances attracting over 40,000 attendees. Enjoy dramatic works, comedy, magic, dance and more, then check out the Fringe Bar in the evening for more entertainment.

Vancouver Trolleybus Tour 2018

  • What: A 1954-built, CCF-Brill trolleybus returns for “fan trips” to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vancouver’s trolleybus system. Fares for the special anniversary trips on the vintage bus are $25 for an adult and $15 for a child, with proceeds going towards TSMV’s initiatives of maintaining and restoring heritage vehicles of the region’s transit system. However, it is important to note that the upcoming trips are not part of the regular transit service operated by TransLink.

Pirate Weekend at the Cannery

  • What: Pirates (the friendly kind) invade the Cannery in celebration of Talk Like a Pirate Day. The Shady Isle Pirates will set up a pirate encampment inside the historic cannery, with lots of games and swashbuckling fun for the entire family to enjoy. Wear your best pirate gear, or try some from their collection, and be sure to brush up on your pirate-speak before you dare to enter the pirate zone.
