Capilano University is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a massive party on September 22

There’s no better way to end the summer than with a festival. On Saturday, September 22 you’re invited to attend CapFest at Capilano University’s North Vancouver campus located at 2055 Purcell Way.

It’s free to attend the all-day event, which is set to feature multiple stages with live music and DJs, food trucks and a family-friendly beer garden. (Yeah, apparently that’s a thing now. What a time to be alive.)

Capilano University is throwing CapFest, a massive event for the broader community, to celebrate its anniversary — the university turned 50 this month!

You can tour the new murals on campus, explore an Indigenous festival, see film screenings, visit an experience fair, where you can measure your abilities against world-class records, and take on an escape room challenge.

There’s also going to be an alumni homecoming hospitality tent and activities for children.

Dance the day away to live performers that include Hey Ocean!, Five Alarm Funk, Keith Bennett, Side One, and DJ O Show. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can indulge in delicious eats from food trucks that include Mr. Bannock, Melt City, and Vij’s.

If you’re one of the first 500 people to arrive by bicycle or public transit, you’ll receive a  gift! If you must drive, parking is free but it is limited (available on a first-come, first-served basis).

Check out CapFest for more information and to see the full schedule of events.
