Wu-Tang Clan (Coastal Jazz & Blues)

What: This summer, the legendary Wu-Tang Clan will be coming to Vancouver for a concert as part of the 34th annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. The festival takes place from June 21 to July 1, 2019, at multiple venues across the city. The Wu-Tang Clan first entered the music scene 25 years ago, quickly becoming recognized for their diverse personalities and talents. They went on to sell more than 40 million albums worldwide, as well as have a handful of albums go platinum.

Terri Clark

What: With over 5 million albums sold, and induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and three-time JUNO Award winner, Terri Clark also holds the honor of being the only Canadian female member of the legendary Grand Ole Opry. She has been named CCMA Female Vocalist of the Year five times and has taken home eight CCMA Fan’s Choice Awards; in total, Terri has had the honor of receiving 19 CCMA Awards.

Greek Day on Broadway 2019

What: This event is the largest one day Greek festival in Vancouver and it attracts more than 100,000 people every year. This year it’s taking place on June 23 in a five-block stretch from McDonald to Blenheim Street.

Ladner Village Market

Queer Arts Festival

What: An annual artist-run multi-disciplinary summer arts festival at the Roundhouse in Vancouver, BC. QAF produces, presents and exhibits with a curatorial vision favouring challenging, thought-provoking work that pushes boundaries and initiates dialogue. Each year, the festival theme ties together a curated visual art exhibition, performing arts series, workshops, artist talks, panels, and media art screenings.

Vallea Lumina

Alberto Giacometti: A Line Through Time

What: This unique exhibition is focused on the art of Alberto Giacometti, renowned in the twentieth century for his sculpture, painting, drawing and design. The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to examine the breadth of his practice and to see Giacometti’s place among his contemporaries in Paris and London in the post-war period.

In addition to Giacometti, featured artists include Francis Bacon, César, Lynn Chadwick, Jean Dubuffet, Jean Fautrier, Elisabeth Frink, Henri Michaux, Eduardo Paolozzi, Isabel Rawsthorne, Man Ray, Germaine Richier, Jean-Paul Riopelle and William Turnbull, among others.
