River District Golden Easter Celebration

  • What:River District is bringing gold fever back to the Fraser with a gold-themed event. With everything from gold foiled chocolate eggs, to gold-dusted face painting, and cotton candy with (you guessed it) gold sprinkles – you’ll need to see it to believe it. There’s also going to be balloons, arts and crafts, and even a giant chocolate bunny draw.

VanDusen Botanical Garden’s Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt

  • What: Take part in the Annual A-Maze-ing Egg Hunt at VanDusen Botanical Garden. Afterwards, enjoy some fun crafts and activities or check out the yummy food selections and explore the beauty in the 55 acre garden.
  • When: Now to Sunday, April 1, 2018
  • Time: Four sessions daily: 9 am to 10 am, 10 am to 11 am, 11 am to 12 pm, and 12 pm to 1 pm

Kala-Sikh Art Exhibition

  • What: The Art Exhibition will highlight local Sikh artists and consist of artwork, poetry, film, historical exhibits, as well as stage performances, including a Naad Musical Piece. There will also be a silent auction for art pieces.

Easter at the Cannery

  • What: The Easter Salmon makes its annual return this year to hide eggs for the little ones to find throughout the historic cannery. At 10:30 am, The Great Salmon “Egg” Hunt will start and repeat every 30 minutes throughout the day with the last egg hunt at 4:30 pm. There will also be Easter crafts, games and an interactive story-time suitable for kids ages 2 to 12 years old.

Save the Rio Telethon

  • What: An old-school 30-hour marathon #SaveTheRio Telethon fundraiser at the Rio Theatre. Featuring The Gentlemen Hecklers, Kitty Nights, Eleven09, Charlier Demers, The Fictionals, Story Story Lie, C.R. Avery, Instant Theatre, Travis Bernhardt, Shirley Gnome, and many more. Hosted by Eric Fell and Patrick Maliha.

Luminescence III

  • What: The Easter bunny is stashing treats at CG Brown pool. Seven-year-olds and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the water; bring your bathing suit.

  • What: Known as one of the most influential filmmakers of the twentieth century, you can check out some of the most acclaimed films made by director Ingmar Bergman, this Easter weekend. The institute’s ‘Easter Weekend Bergman Triple Bills’ will be playing his ‘Faith’ trilogy, with films like Through a Glass DarklyWinter Light, and The Silence for attendees to enjoy.
