What: The Cheese and Meat Festival is all about indulging in small plates, so be ready to discover dozens of vendors showcasing their finest products through elevated bites.

The Who

What: Legendary rockers The Who are bringing their North American farewell tour to Vancouver on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers behind hits like “Who Are You” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again” are also the recipients of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

That Show(time) of the Month

What: You think hecklers are tough? Try doing a stand-up set with period cramps.

A handful of cis-male comics will experience periods live on stage during That Show (time) of the Month while trying to do comedy. Cory Lupovici (JFL Vancouver) and Alannah Brittany (CBC Gem) will be challenging male comics by hooking them up to a period cramp simulator while they deliver their sets.

Splash – Free Preview Exhibition

What: Over 90 stunning artworks make up the Splash 2025 Art Collection on display at the Pendulum Gallery at 885 W. Georgia St. The free public preview showcases the pieces of art donated by acclaimed and emerging Canadian and international artists.

The lineup of artists this year includes Moses Salihou, a Cameroonian artist who blends abstraction with portraiture, Maggie Hall, a painter inspired by pop culture, and Cole Speck, a Kwakwaka’wakw artist who infuses Northwest Coast carving traditions with contemporary narratives.

Kitsilano Farmers’ Market

What: Kitsilano Farmers’ Market takes place on Sundays in the parking lot of the Community Centre and offers a good selection of fresh local produce and gourmet treats to stock up on for the week. There are also a number of artisan vendors and food trucks to check out at the market.

Fort Langley Ukulele Festival

What: The Langley Ukulele Association is hosting the First Annual International Ukulele Festival, and several of Hawaii’s top musical talents will be performing, including Craig Chee, Sarah Maisel, and Bryan Tolentino.

Acclaimed Ukulele performers from the Pacific Northwest will be in the festival lineup, like Neal Chin, Eduardo Garcia, and Luongo family members Peter, Paul and Mark. There will be a mix of free and ticketed events throughout Fort Langley as well as workshops, so don’t miss out on the fun.

Oktoberfest at Parallel 49

What: Every day until Sunday, Oct. 5, Parallel 49 Brewing will be celebrating Oktoberfest in their massive tent and biergarten. Come enjoy live music from a traditional Rheinlander band from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, and 5:30 to 9:45 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

There will also be a great selection of Oktoberfest-style beers, traditional German food features and specials, and more. Plus dress up on Fridays and Saturdays for your chance to win the best-dressed Oktoberfest outfit.

Harvest Days at VanDusen Botanical Garden

Every fall, VanDusen Botanical Garden transforms with pumpkins, scarecrows, and colourful autumn displays.

It’s one of Vancouver’s most family-friendly seasonal traditions, offering hay-bale mazes, photo spots, and festive snacks.

This year’s displays also feature eco-friendly art installations by local artist Nickie Lewis. Harvest Days is one of Vancouver’s most family-friendly fall traditions, running on weekends from late September through mid-October.

Vancouver Is Funny Comedy Showcase

What: If you’re looking for a hilarious night out this month, then you need to check out a new comedy extravaganza that is taking over Vancouver all September long.

The inaugural Vancouver Is Funny, presented by MRG Live, runs from now until Tuesday, Sept. 30. There are over 30 comics at over 30 live events to discover in the annual celebration of comedy, including stand-ups, podcasters, and more.

Vancouver Career Fair

What: Those looking to take their career to the next level, or find the next role that’s perfect for them, will want to check out a Vancouver job fair happening this week.

The Vancouver Career Fair is coming to the Heritage Hall on Main Street on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Hosted by non-profit organization Vancouver International Volunteer Association, the event will feature over 20 local employers from a variety of industries, as well as on-site career training and resources to help job seekers.

What: Abbotsford’s Maan Farms is known for its epic fall events, and this year, it is introducing a new Halloween Fright Festival.

The farm’s signature scare zones have been reimagined for maximum immersion, and the Frightfully Fun Forest Pumpkin Patch has been elevated with glowing lights, mist-shrouded trees, and oversized mushroom and butterfly houses.

Once the sun sets, live theatrical performances will roll out across the wine garden, the Midway, and the pumpkin patch.

Bring your appetite as Mama Maan’s Country Kitchen will serve butter chicken and chickpea curry bowls, samosas, seasonal pizzas, kettle corn, and desserts like Apple Pie Samosas.

Pokémon GO City Safari Vancouver

What: Do you want to be the very best like no one ever was? Then you need to make plans for the Pokémon GO City Safari coming to Vancouver on Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28.

Thousands of trainers from across Metro Vancouver are expected to take part in the city-wide event, with themed encounters, real-world activities, and in-game activations.

The Pokémon GO City Safari also marks the first time that the developer Niantic is hosting the worldwide event in Canada.

Flavours of Hope, which is organizing the pop-up, is a non-profit social enterprise that empowers immigrant and refugee women to flourish and build belonging through culinary entrepreneurship, storytelling, and community.
