Boobyball Presents: Into the Ocean

What: The annual Boobyball party returns to Van City this month, and this year’s charitable party is going underwater. Taking place on October 26 at The Permanent, the giant party aims to raise funds for Rethink Breast Cancer’s programs, spread awareness about breast cancer prevention, and provide support for individuals under 40.

BROCKHAMPTON

What: American hip-hop ensemble BROCKHAMPTON will be taking the stage with special guests at the PNE Forum on Saturday, October 26, as part of their “Heaven Belongs To You Tour.” Today, the 15-member group is made up of musicians and creatives from all over the world who celebrate the different talents they bring together. To date, they’ve released six albums: All-American Trash (2016), SaturationSaturation IISaturation III (2017), Iridescence (2018), and most recently, Ginger (2019).

Haunted Village

What: The Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel features live entertainment, spooky decor, live characters, and more.

ArtBreakers Illustration Market

What: The ArtBreakers Market is a weekend-long illustration and design exhibition. The market will feature a diverse roster of artists, including award-winning children’s book author and illustrators, art directors, and magazine illustrators. Over the weekend, over 45 of these top-tier professionals will be gathered at Heritage Hall to showcase and share their personal projects and wares with the public.

VRRA Rabbit Festival

What: The Vancouver Rabbit Rescue and Advocacy (VRRA) is hosting its 15th Annual VRRA Rabbit Festival on October 26. The festival will include demonstrations from bunny athletes from the Vancouver Rabbit Agility club, contests, raffles, drinks, and snacks.

With a minimum donation, the festival offers vet checks, nail clippings, and grooming services. Just be sure to BYOB (bring your own bunny). There will also be educational services on-site to help inform attendees about caring for their rabbits, and adoptable bunnies from the VRRA shelter will be there to visit.

Mid-Century Madness: Celebrating 60 years at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre

What: To commemorate its 1959 inaugural year, Queen Elizabeth Theatre is hosting a dress-up party with bubbly, a photo booth, dancing, live entertainment, and more. Tickets are priced $19.59 to celebrate its birth year.

A Westwood Halloween

What: Westwood Recordings’ A Westwood Halloween features performances by Stickybuds, Moontricks, and Dirtwire, with support from Rumpus & Sivz. The 19+ event is a combination of dance and electronic music to boogie the night away to. With audio by PK Sound and visuals by Ineo Studios, expect a powerful and unparalleled party experience.

Halloween at the Vancouver Aquarium

What: To celebrate Halloween, the Vancouver Aquarium is offering 50% off the price of entry for all youth (4 to 18 years of age) who dress up on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27. Children 3 and under get in for free.

Bring the little ones along to the Aquarium to face their fears and check out the spooktacular creatures residing there, such as snakes, spiders, bats, and cockroaches. The Reef Reborn 4-D experience lets you and the kids dive into a world of majestic sea turtles and eye-popping fish, all without leaving the Aquarium.

Vancouver Public Library Book Sale

What: Vancouver Public Library is holding a huge book sale from October 24 to 26 in the Alice McKay Room at the VPL’s main branch at 350 West Georgia Street. More than just books, however, the sale will also feature CDs and video games among the offerings. All sales are final, and attendees are asked to bring their own bags to carry their new finds home in. Prices start at just 50 cents for some items, and anything that remains unsold by the end of the sale will be half price.
