What: NOSH Foodie Fest is a weekly, food-centric event taking place in the parking lot at Capilano Mall every Saturday in June. This free to attend event centred around food truck-hopping will tempt one’s taste buds, fill one’s belly, and no doubt put all foodies into a legit food coma. Rounding out the tantalizing event menu will be other activities including the “PB & Jam” DJ Booth and “There’s A Little Something On Your Face” Face Painting Station.

A Legendary Pride: Drag Demo at CurliQue

What: In commemoration of Stonewall’s 50th Anniversary, CurliQue is celebrating Pride Month with a very special pride event. Dive into the history of pride as resident Q-Talent Leader and LGBTQ+ activist and Drag royalty Jaylene Tyme walks you through the history of Stonewall and the important history of pride month. Aspiring drag queens and drag fans will really enjoy a special drag makeup demonstration by Jaylene, one of Vancouver’s most prolific drag queens. Bernadette Peters with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

What: Stage and screen star Bernadette Peters will step in to perform at the VSO’s free outdoor concert on Deer Lake Park Festival Lawn in Burnaby on June 29 at 8 pm . The previously announced guest artist, Queen Latifah, was forced to withdraw on short notice due to strep throat. Peters will perform a some of her favourite songs from throughout her career including Sondheim classics Send in the Clowns, No One Is Alone, Losing My Mind and many more. Peters’ long-time musical director Marvin Laird will lead the VSO. Maestro Tausk and the VSO will open the concert with selections from Leonard Bernstein’s On the Town and West Side Story.

Vancouver International Guitar Festival 2019

What: VIGF is an international showcase celebrating the art and craft of contemporary guitar making, both acoustic and electric. All instruments on exhibit will be available for purchase and custom commissions are welcome. We are presenting the work of master luthiers from Canada, the United States, and around the world. Electrics, acoustics, ukuleles and basses will be on display—from the most avant-garde to the staunchly traditional. VIGF will also present a selection of vendors who supply wood and parts to the custom guitar trade.
