Vancouver Canucks' Chris Tanev is injured again
Chalk it up to terrible, terrible luck.
Vancouver Canucks defenceman Chris Tanev has been re-injured and is out for the rest of the season.
The news comes after a home game against the New Jersey Devils, which the Vancouver Canucks ultimately dropped in the shootout.
The 29-year-old blocked a shot from the Devils’ Kyle Palmieri during a penalty kill.
He disappeared into the dressing room mid-game and although he made a brief return, head coach Travis Green confirmed that his season was over.
He told reporters that it’s believed that the injury is a break.
Brendan Batchelor, play-by-play broadcaster for the Canucks and Sportsnet 650, tweeted that Tanev was seen in a walking boot and crutches after the game.
