The weather across B.C. continues to be unseasonably warm in the month of June, and several temperature records were broken over the weekend, including a 94-year-old historical high in Vancouver.
According to the daily weather summaries from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), 26 B.C. spots tied or set records for June 14, 2026.
While Vancouver is gearing up for a hot summer, Sunday’s high in the city broke a record set back in 1932.

Vancouver hit a daily maximum temperature record on June 14 of 26.8°C.
The previous record for the date was 25.6°C, a difference of 1.2°C, set in 1932. Records for the area have been kept since 1896.
Records were set in several other Lower Mainland cities, including West Vancouver (29.2°C), Abbotsford (31.5°C), and Pitt Meadows (33.3°C).
Several of the high-temperature marks were set decades ago.
The latest forecast indicates that Metro Vancouver temperatures will remain warm throughout the week, but some relief is on the way.
“We had a strong upper ridge of high pressure dominating the southern part of the province, though it was focused over the southern mountains of B.C.,” explained ECCC meteorologist Brian Proctor.
“However, we are going to get a bit of a marine push this week that’s going to push temperatures down. Daytime highs will drop.”

The Metro Vancouver forecast will cool off between Tuesday and Thursday, with Wednesday’s high slated to reach 20°C with a mix of sun and cloud
However, things will begin heating up throughout the rest of the work week and into the weekend, with temperatures rising to reach 25°C on Friday and Sunday.
