A new 16,000 sq. ft. Value Village is about to open in Metro Vancouver

Get ready, Metro Vancouver thrifters: a new Value Village is about to open on the North Shore, and it’s ready for you to get your shop on.
The secondhand retail chain is opening its first location in North Vancouver at 1420 Fell Ave., inside the previous Ginger Jar Furniture location just off Marine Drive.
The over 16,000 sq. ft. thrift store is holding its grand opening on Thursday, June 25, and things are shaping up inside to welcome shoppers.

“Whether you are shopping on a budget, a lover of all things vintage, or simply looking to declutter responsibly, Value Village thrift store in North Vancouver is your champion of reuse,” said Savers Value Village online.
The brand’s 11th location in the region is stocked up with clothing, books, toys, accessories and more, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
It is also located across the street from a longtime Salvation Army Thrift Store at 1451 Fell Ave.

The store’s Donation Centre is currently open for drop-offs of secondhand goods, ranging from housewares to bed and bath and sports and exercise gear, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Value Village is also hiring for several roles at the North Vancouver location, including retail warehouse and production associate, retail supervisor, and retail store associate.
Positions include comprehensive extended health care plans for full-time team members, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, and a Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with company matching.

The new North Vancouver location may not be the last Value Village to open in the region.
In 2024, it was announced that a brand new purpose-built retail building would be built on East Hastings Street in Vancouver’s Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood for the discount thrift retail chain.
Value Village’s previous location was at the mid-block site of 1820 East Hastings St.
The store’s previous building at the longtime location, near the southeast corner of the intersection of Salsbury Drive and East Hastings Street, was destroyed in a fire in June 2022.
