The Vancouver Aquarium is hosting an adults-only Valentine's Day party

Jan 15 2019, 6:20 am

Love will be in the air at the Valentine’s Day edition of the Vancouver Aquarium After Hours event on Thursday, February 14.

The evening affair is adults-only, and will set the stage for a provocative, sometimes racy, and often times comical exploration of the sex lives of aquatic animals.

“Don’t miss the thrilling shark sex program exploring the four (that’s right – four!) ways that sharks reproduce,” the aquarium says.

Singles and couples alike are invited to spend Valentine’s Day with a drink in hand while they explore the galleries after dark.

Vancouver Aquarium veterinary fellow Dr. Megan Strobel is hosting a talk on the sex lives of marine animals, where you can discover which aquatic animal has the biggest penis to body size ratio, which creatures engage in courting and which species mate for 14 hours straight.

You can watch the “naughty puppet show,” back by popular demand, or take part in the Meet a Penguin program that will bring you toe to webbed toe with these loveable birds. There are alcoholic beverages including beer, wine and cocktails available for purchase throughout the aquarium.

Tickets are only available online and guests are encouraged to purchase tickets early as this event sells out.

The event is 19-plus only and photo ID is required for entry.
