Here's what's open and closed in Vancouver for Truth and Reconciliation Day

Sep 24 2025, 6:20 pm

This upcoming Tuesday, Sept. 30, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a statutory holiday in B.C. Therefore, many places will be closed in the Metro Vancouver area.

According to Canadian Heritage, the day “honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.”

Many events are being held to bring the community together to reflect on this dark chapter in Canadian history. You can see a list of some of the events in the region online.
