Lime forging ahead with expansion of e-scooter parking across Vancouver

Ridership numbers for Lime’s e-scooter share service continue to climb in Vancouver, and a milestone anniversary brings confirmation that the company is expanding across the city.
Lime announced today that riders have taken more than 400,000 rides since North America’s first all-docked e-scooter share service launched one year ago last summer.
The downtown expansion this summer was identified as a significant factor contributing to the surge in ridership. And the company said that they are not done with plans to grow Lime in Vancouver.

“It’s been a great first year in Vancouver, and hitting over 400,000 rides is a fantastic way to celebrate,” said Clare Laverty, Community Engagement Manager at Lime Canada, in a release. “We’ve seen tremendous growth, especially over the summer, as more and more commuters, locals, and tourists discover how easy and enjoyable it is to get around the city on a Lime e-scooter.
Beyond the numbers, we’re proud of our community partnerships, especially our collaboration with Vancouver Pride, which demonstrated our role in moving Vancouverites sustainably during major city events.”
Laverty also confirmed that, as Lime looks ahead to its second year of operations in Vancouver, it plans to build more dedicated parking locations across the city.

Lime launched its services in downtown Vancouver on June 11, 2025, with 28 stations in the city centre — bringing the company’s total e-scooter share network size in the city to 525 devices across 98 stations.
Lime recorded its first 75,000 rides in Vancouver within the Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland neighbourhoods, where the service first launched in September 2024, as well as in Strathcona and Mount Pleasant, which were added to the service area during a winter expansion.
Over the initial five-year period, Lime would gradually expand across Vancouver. The ultimate size of Lime’s citywide e-scooter share service could reach up to 1,042 stations and 5,000 devices.
“To meet growing demand, Lime and the City of Vancouver are collaborating to expand the network of dedicated parking stations,” said Lime in the release.
“These custom-designed stations are a unique feature of the Vancouver program and additional locations are currently in the pipeline, with plans to further integrate the e-scooter system across the City in more neighbourhoods and at key destinations.”
It has not been all rosy for Lime in Metro Vancouver, as the company pulled its e-bike share services from the North Shore this summer.

In an email to Daily Hive Urbanized, Sonia Kandola, the senior director of government relations for Lime, said that, over the company’s history on the North Shore, riders have taken over 326,000 trips and travelled a distance of 738,000 km.
“After four successful years as the exclusive shared e-bike operator on the North Shore, Lime will conclude its e-bike program in the region for the time being,” said Kandola, adding that “Lime is proud to have built a program that delivered a convenient and sustainable transportation option to the community.”
