Truck travelling along highway in Langley slams into overpass
A truck travelling along Highway 1 westbound near 232nd Street Tuesday morning stuck a CP Rail overhead, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) branch responded to the incident and is investigating.
The ministry said traffic was not affected, and the damage to the overpass was “minor and cosmetic, with no impacts to the rail line.”

It comes after several incidents involving commercial vehicles and overpasses in recent months have led to lengthy delays for motorists and calls for mounting regulation in the industry.
Last month, a truck driver fled the scene after their vehicle damaged the Main Street overpass in North Vancouver. The company was fined. However, there have been no charges laid against the driver in that incident.
