Highly anticipated Metro Vancouver development featuring Nemesis and new Ask for Luigi concept to open soon

Jun 12 2025, 5:00 pm

Like many of the folks in Vancouver, when either Nemesis or Ask for Luigi announces a new location or concept, we can’t wait. Both brands have been coming in hot with expansion news, with Nemesis announcing the first standalone Dope Bakehouse location and Ask for Luigi opening its tucked-away Cantina di Luigi earlier this year.

Now, the two will be located under the same roof at the soon-to-be-open TriCity Pavilion in Coquitlam, brought to us by Marcon in partnership with QuadReal Property Group.

“TriCity Pavilion is designed to reflect the energy of the future TriCity Central community we’re building – a living expression of what’s to come,” said Nic Paolella, executive
vice president at Marcon. “We’re excited to officially open our doors. Nemesis and Kitchen Table Group are two of Vancouver’s most forward-thinking culinary brands, and their partnership helps set the stage for the vibrant, community-focused future we envision for the Tri-Cities.”

The TriCity Pavilion officially opens its doors on July 12, but those looking to enjoy some of its delicious offerings will be able to get in a little bit earlier.

Nemesis TriCity Pavilion

Nemesis Tricity Pavilion will soft open on June 14, bringing with it its signature curated music, coffee offerings, brunch, and pastries courtesy of its bakery brand, Dope Bakehouse.

On the menu, you’ll find many Nemesis favourites, such as its Cornflake Cookie, Pistachio Swirl, and the viral Mortadella Supreme, to name a few.

This new 2,300 sq. ft. location, collectively designed by Nemesis’s creative team and Marcon’s in-house Design Studio, will feature seating for 50 inside and additional patio seating outside. Expect a light-filled space with plenty of greenery, large speakers, and vinyl record accents.

“Nemesis TriCity has been years in the making – it’s been amazing to see the space come to life,” said Jess Reno, founder and CEO of Nemesis. “We can’t wait to open what will be our fifth Nemesis, but our first location in the Tri-Cities.”

Once open, Nemesis TriCity will operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Gigi’s by Ask for Luigi

Opening on June 24, Gigi’s is a brand-new concept from the award-winning Kitchen Table Group, intended to serve as a sibling to its Michelin Guide-recommended Ask for Luigi’s.

If that wasn’t enough to entice you, the menu was created by Top Chef Canada winner and Culinary Director Chanthy Yen alongside Head Chef Lloyd Taganahan. Expect a burrata bar, housemade pasta, and Italian-style pizza.

Coming in at 4,800 sq. ft., Gigi’s will include 133 seats (which includes its central island bar and outdoor patio). The space will be adorned with living plants and flora, alongside family photos, aiming to create a living room feel.

Additionally, an Italian bar going by the name Bar Lucia is expected to open in the future.

“Gigi’s is about the deep connections food can create,” said Jennifer Rossi, co-founder of Kitchen Table Group. “Every detail in the restaurant was thoughtfully considered – from the photos on the wall, banquet seating, to the hand-stitched signage at the check-in desk. As with each and every Kitchen Table Group location, Gigi’s is unique on its own, and we’re thrilled to be opening our first location in the Tri-Cities.”

Once officially open, you can visit Gigi’s Sunday to Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday to Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight.
