Vancouver's new Bohemian-inspired patio is softly open — here's what to expect

Jun 11 2025, 6:36 pm

Just like much of Vancouver, one of our favourite ways to enjoy the warm weather is to sit back and relax on a patio with a drink in hand, and now there’s a new spot to do so.

Introducing Bae Side, a new pop-up from Mishree Restaurant Concepts (behind restaurants like Tandoori Flame and Happy Singh Eats), taking over the patio of the former Mahony’s Tavern False Creek.

Here, guests will find the perfect summer vibes with its Bohemian-inspired approach to hospitality, live music, select bites, and plenty of drink favourites that combine West Coast ingredients with inspiration from Indian, Pan-Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cultures and cuisines.

Example of menu items like Hamachi Crudo (hamachi and serrano pepper marinated in citrus and herbs), Steamed Dumplings (carrot, cabbage, home-made tomato dip), Smash Burger Sliders (certified Angus beef, house sauce, iceberg lettuce, American cheese, pickles, brioche buns, fries), and Chicken, Paneer, or Fish Tacos (flour tortilla, onion pepper mix, coleslaw, pico de Gallo, mint mayo).

As for the drink side of things, expect a curated list of summer-specific sips including the King and Marry (tequila, mango, lemon, rosemary) and Oh My Coco (white rum, coconut Malibu, coconut, lemon).

Bae Side will also offer zero-proof versions of its signature cocktails, as well as specially crafted non-alcoholic drinks like the Berry Bellini (raspberry, blackberry, peach, lemon, 7Up) and the Virgin Hakka (lychee, passion fruit, coconut, lemon).

“We’re thrilled to bring our passion for hospitality and create a new waterside saga in one of the city’s most iconic spots to enjoy the very best that summer in Vancouver has to offer,” said Mishree Restaurant concepts managing director Shraey Gulati. “Our entire team is looking forward to welcoming locals and visitors to one of the prime summertime patios in the city and joining one of Canada’s most exciting culinary scenes.”

The Bae Side pop-up will remain in place until around September 2026, relocating indoors for the colder months and introducing seasonal changes to the food and drink menu. Later in 2026, the space will close to undergo a massive renovation that will launch the brand-new restaurant called Mishree on the Water, expected to officially open in spring 2027.

Bae Side is currently softly open, with its grand opening scheduled for June 19. You can visit Monday to Thursday from noon to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
