T&T Supermarket has announced that its fourth store location within the city of Vancouver will open at the end of this week.

The Asian specialty supermarket’s newest location is within Westbank’s recently completed Kensington Gardens redevelopment at 2206 Kingsway. The store spans 33,000-sq-ft, and offers everything the retailer is known for, including its growing in-store eatery options.

The store opens at 10 am on Friday, March 15, with the first 200 customers through the door during the morning’s grand opening celebrations receiving a $10 gift card.

“We know residents are looking forward to the revitalization of Kingsway and we are thrilled to be opening an Asian grocery store that offers fresh produce, meat, seafood, grocery items, ready-to-eat Asian meals and a convenient shopping experience,” said Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarkets, in a statement.

“After 26 years, we continue to expand our business to bring authentic Asian food and flavours to Canadians.”

T&T Supermarket is the main retail anchor tenant of Kensington Gardens, which includes 428 homes within three 17-storey towers and restaurants and smaller retail. The redevelopment also funded a 120-ft-tall ladder — a public art piece called ‘108 Steps’ on the Kingsway roadway median in front of the building complex.

The retailer, a part of Canada’s Loblaw Companies’ group of stores, now has 27 stores across the country. Its other locations within Vancouver include Chinatown, the corner of East 1st Avenue and Renfrew Street, and Marine Gateway.

Last year, T&T Supermarket opened a store in Richmond’s Lansdowne Centre, which is the chain’s largest location.
