Here's where to go in Vancouver if you don't want to cook this Thanksgiving

There’s a lot of pressure when it comes to cooking a standout Thanksgiving dinner, so we get it if you’d rather skip all the work (and, more importantly, not have to worry about dishes) and eat out this Thanksgiving.

Belgard Kitchen’s popular Family Dinner is returning this Thanksgiving, with a dine-in turkey dinner available on the evening of Oct. 12. Coming in at $50 per person, you’ll enjoy turkey two ways (stuffed and rolled breast and confit legs with turkey gravy and cranberry sauce), twice-baked rosemary and goat cheese bread pudding, mashed potatoes with confit garlic, roasted Brussels sprouts (with crispy pancetta, caramelized apples, and toasted hazelnuts), and Basque cheesecake for dessert.

Enjoy a three-course menu at $69 per person this Thanksgiving over at the wonderful Yaletown restaurant Provence Marinaside. You’ll start your meal with pissaladière (caramelized onions, black olives, anchovies, and arugula on pizza crust) before moving on to roasted turkey breast and roulade of leg (with organic carrots, mashed potatoes, turkey jus, and cranberry sauce). Then for dessert, you’ll dig into a pumpkin and pecan cake. This multi-course menu is available from Oct. 7 to 12.

Not feeling turkey? Violeté is cooking up roasted poussin chicken this year on Oct. 11 and 12. At $75 per person, you’ll also enjoy house sourdough with carbonara butter, jamón croquetas, carrot and marigold, purple potatoes with bagna cauda, roasted seasonal vegetables, stuffing, and pumpkin tart.

For a less traditional sit-down Thanksgiving dinner, you can head to Time Out Market Vancouver, where over a dozen of the kitchens will be offering their own special Thanksgiving dishes. Think of options like The Holiday Sando from DownLow Chicken (crispy fried chicken with a roast chicken dinner spice blend, stuffing patty, Brussels sprout slaw, and gravy mayo on a potato bun), Cambodian Congee with BBQ turkey, egg, and chili oil from Mee Bar, Lam Kofta in Fenugreek Masala from Vikram Vij’s Peacock, Mochi Pumpkin Pie from Beaucoup Bakery, and a Pumpkin Spice Latt-ini from the Time Out Market Bars. These dishes will be available from Oct. 8 to 12.

Bar Bravo is offering a special non-traditional take-home dinner this Thanksgiving that ditches the turkey for a seafood boil. The meal is built for two (or more in multiples of two) and features a full Dungeness crab, king prawns, half a pound each of PEI mussels and clams, corn, baby potatoes, green beans, compound butter, and Livia potato buns. There will also be a homemade pumpkin pie to round things out, and an optional mystery bottle of red or white wine for $40 to make it extra special. The order cutoff for this is Wednesday, Oct. 7, and the meal comes in at $75 per person.

For $109 for two people, you’ll enjoy rosemary- and sage-brined and roasted turkey breast, buttermilk mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts with candied walnuts, maple roasted baby carrots, herb stuffing with cranberries, traditional turkey gravy, orange-whiskey cranberry sauce, and two 4-inch pumpkin pies with chantilly cream. Glowbal’s Thanksgiving Dinner To-Go Kit is a meal that serves four and includes classics like a slow-roasted Fraser Valley Turkey, Fall Harvest Salad, House-Made Brioche Cinnamon rolls, dessert, and all kinds of sides. Each kit is $145 and is available for pickup between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Oct. 11. Thanksgiving kits are also available at its sister restaurants Black+Blue and Coast.

Then for dessert, you have the option between sticky toffee pudding or pumpkin panna cotta.

On Oct. 11, Fable Diner and Bar is serving up a classic Thanksgiving dinner for $45 per person. The menu consists of a choice of harvest salad, Caesar salad, or tomato soup, followed by a traditional turkey dinner (complete with stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and mixed vegetables), and a choice of sticky toffee pudding, tiramisu bites, or fudge brownies for dessert.
