Tacofino and BETA5 are launching the ultimate mashup treat (PHOTOS)

Two of Vancouver’s favourite local purveyors are teaming up to make this summer the sweetest one to date.

Much-loved family of Cali-style taco spots Tacofino and dessert maker BETA5 are releasing a mashup treat you don’t want to miss – the Diablo Horchata ice cream sandwich.

This dreamy creation by BETA5 features two of Tacofino’s signature Diablo Cookies and will be available at Westbank’s Shipping Container Summer Pop-Up Series from July 1 to 7.

After that, this drool-worthy ice cream sandwich will be up for grabs throughout the summer for at all Tacofino’s brick-and-mortar locations in the city.

In addition to this new treat, the two brands are throwing an evening summer social on July 4 from 6 to 9 pm. Tickets are $29 and include a Tacofino taco, a Strange Fellows Beer, and a taste of the Lime-Mint Freshie-inspired sundae that will be officially up for order at BETA5’s summer social on July 6.

There’s a lot of eating to do between these two spots this season, be sure to wear your stretchy pants and get it done.
