Thieves caught in bait car after struggling to defrost and warm up vehicle (VIDEO)

It might just be one of the most Canadian crime scenes out there.

Last week, a video surfaced online showing two car thieves attempting to steal a bait vehicle in Surrey, BC, last winter.

The problem? Because it was January and outside temperatures were below zero, the thieves had to wait for the car to warm up and (attempt to) defrost the car before they could go anywhere.

Their problems begin right away when one of the thieves gets in the vehicle and attempts to open the door for his partner before realizing the door is frozen shut.

This results in a back-and-forth struggle, before the person in the vehicle gives up and tells the other person to just come around and get in the driver’s-side door.

Things don’t exactly improve from there, though.

Yes, it appears this incident was a cold twist of fate for the thieves.
